The Lost Ones

This page is dedicated to those who came into rescue too late.  Those who were not cared for before coming to us and who eventually lost their lives as result of their previous neglect.

Say a prayer for these lost babies.  Sometimes all we can do is love them for a short time and show them kindness in their final hours.

Sweet Sadie, gone to the bridge

Died at BJC Animal shelter in Birmingham, AL RIP 01/03/2007 Unknown Cause

Corey - Passed unexpectedly while in foster care.  She was a sweet girl.

Lily -  Try as we might, she was too damaged to be a good pet.  We did the best thing for her.

Tommy - Came to us with a tangerine sized tumor on his chest.  Was hospiced by Adoptarott and died January 2006.

Zeus - Hurricane Katrina survivor, but too ill and injured to make a recovery.

Sonny - Katrina survivor, died as a result of an embolism to his spine caused by heartworm disease.

Barbara - Katrina survivor.  Later died of a bacterial pneumonia from being exposed to the water in NOLA.

BA - Referred to us with cancer from Chilton County Shelter.  We set him free from his pain with dignity at the vet's office.  A volunteer held his paw and let him know he was loved and mattered.

Daphne - Katrina survivor.  She made it through the hurricane but was too traumatized to be a pet.

Beau - died of a stroke from heartworm disease before we could get him well enough to be treated.

These are just a few.  We see so many horrific things everyday.  Please spay and neuter your pets.  Be good dog parents.  Make your Rottweiler a part of the family and provide them with the companionship, love and care they deserve.
